The Women of MotherStack have gathered.
From myth to (m)otherhood, milk lines to matrescence, creativity to ecology, neurodivergence to the sacred, poetry to sobriety, anthropology to belonging.
Read. Absorb. Share. Enjoy.
Today is the Spring Equinox, Cónocht an Earraigh (the Equal Night of the Spring in Irish). It is the first day this year that the sun has given us heat in Wicklow. It marks a turning point in the year. A time of birth and renewal. A time when dark and light are in balance and nature reminds us that the time has come to emerge.
Like our forebears, who have marked the equinox for 5,000 years, at stone circles and cairns, I too feel like today is a day for celebration.
Twelve days ago, I put out a call for Mother-Writers and Space-Holders on Substack. Today, the first edition of the MotherStack Guide is here.
I so look forward to sitting with these women and sharing their work and words with you.
If you would still like to sign up, you can do so here. The guide will be updated and published on the Summer Solstice.
The MotherStack Guide
This is the first edition of the guide to the Mother-Writers and Space-Holders on Substack. It is alphabetised by first name of the author/creator.
Maiden Mother Crone Podcast
Today also saw the release of the first ‘Maiden Mother Crone’ Conversation with
, Alisha Teasdale and me, . I could listen to Josie speak about these ancient archetypes and her experience of aging all day. And what a joy to sit with Alisha, representing the maiden and reminding us of our own younger years. There truly is wisdom to be found in every stage. The podcast audio is available in the post below. Now, I am finishing up my day in my women’s health physio clinic, and then off to visit the stone circle for sunset (if I can manage to get the children on-board!)
